Description:

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Collaborate with engineering and sales teams to understand customer requirements, to promote the sale of company products, and provide sales support.
  • Use knowledge of engineering principles to sell components and products.
  • Prepare custom price quotes for non-stock/custom build items utilizing stock item information on BLACOH’s web-based platform.
  • Frequent telephone, virtual, and written contact with customers, engineering firms, sales channels, and factory personnel.
  • Field visits to customers for the purpose of making presentations, assessing applications, educating them on our value propositions, or troubleshooting.
  • Provide technical support for products in the field, offering guidance to improve installations and troubleshoot problematic installations/operations.
  • Assist the sales team with product training to customers, engineering firms, and contractors. This will include both theoretical (classroom/webinar presentations) as well as hands-on product training including the complete set-up and running of customer demonstrations.
  • Develop project timelines and participate in customer progress meetings.
  • Plan and attend industry trade shows, seminars, and customer training events; provide expert training to current and potential customers.
  • Develop reports, correspondence, specifications, and technical calculations. Prepare technical data and papers for sales personnel, customers, and publications using good internal presentation and report writing skills.
  • Educate customers on BLACOH equipment, upgrades or other add-ons in an attempt to make a more profitable sale.
  • Maintain project records, general engineering & technical records, and contribute to the proper documentation recording in our engineering department per ISO procedures.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational training; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participate in professional events.
  • Identify, prevent, and resolve customer concerns. Collaborate with internal departments to accomplish BFC sales and service goals to meet customer expectations.
  • Based on your own ideas and input from customers, develop concepts for new products and services that the company might offer. Present concepts to the management team including revenue and cost estimates, and technical expertise required.
  • Demonstrates integrity under all circumstances, follows policies and procedures as detailed in the Blacoh Employee Handbook.
  • Provide backup for other positions as necessary and fulfill any other tasks as requested and assigned by management.

Physical Requirements*

  • Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled home and/or office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboard use, and manipulating a computer mouse.
  • Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work.
  • Communicate to perform essential functions.
  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling 50 pounds.
  • Walking, climbing, kneeling, squatting, bending, standing, walking on uneven surfaces, twisting, turning, reaching, pushing, and physical tasks requiring full range of motion.
  • Safety Training and Equipment Requirements*
  • OSHA 10-Hour Industry and Construction may be required.
  • Standard Personal Protective Training and Equipment - shall include eye protection, hearing protection, hand protection, foot protection: steel toe boots, hard hat, and skin protection to include Nomex flame-resistant clothing where required.

Experience and Training*

Skills/Qualifications:

Advanced engineering and math skills, strong communication abilities, read and interpret engineering drawings, sales and customer service, meeting sales goals, closing skills, prospecting skills, negotiation, self-confidence, product knowledge, presentation skills, client relationships, motivation for sales, and engineering.

Required:

  • 5+ years of engineering experience in a technical/sales role.
  • Experience with 2D and 3D CAD software packages (Autodesk Inventor preferred).
  • Travel based on customer requirements, projects, training, and other relevant business needs.
  • Understanding of abstract principles behind fluid dynamics and pressure vessels.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and with time constraints, including handling additional projects as assigned.
  • Complete and retain current safety certifications at all times to include but not limited to Blacoh’s Safety Training Requirements and applicable laws.

Desirable:

  • Prior experience in industrial manufacturing specific to pumps and fluid control.
  • Knowledge of customer service and sales processes for industrial manufacturing and distribution management.
  • Familiar with ASME Section VIII Division 1 code for pressure vessels.
  • Specific knowledge related to plastics, metals, and casts/molds.
  • Experience with ISO and other QC programs.

Education*

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent field is required.
  • Master’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent field is desirable.
  • Required experience, training, or educational requirements shall be as indicated or as deemed acceptable by Blacoh Fluid Control management.

This position is full-time, in-office, and exempt. In accordance with California law, the expected salary range for this California position is between $85,000 and $125,000. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
